This rare combination of business and clinical experience is what sets my practice apart.

*The above names and stories are fictionalized composites of real clients I’ve supported.
Couples who love each other but turn every small thing into an argument and want to stop putting their fights on repeat.
New parents stretched thin by childcare, work, and the quiet wish for a little time of their own.
Individuals who want to understand themselves better and live more fulfilling lives.
My years as a business consultant, academic, and therapist have shown me the many ways people work together, successfully and unsuccessfully.
I’ve seen the mistakes. I know where the pitfalls can be.
Let me help guide you to a better path.

For more than 40 years, I’ve worked as a clinical psychologist. Lately my focus has narrowed to what I find most rewarding: couples, individuals, family businesses, and partnerships of every kind.
Whether it’s conflict, a desire to separate, or simply a wish to make things better, my work is helping people with the interpersonal issues they carry into the marriage, the family, or the office.
People who work with me appreciate that I’m an author and an academic who believes deeply in the power of psychology to help them live better, more fulfilling lives. Working with individuals who want to understand themselves better is part of that, too.
Family businesses hold a particular interest for me, whether multi-generational companies, siblings in partnership, or couples who work together.
Recently I re-started my practice in Westchester County, based in White Plains, after years in academia.
My work almost always begins with an assessment, one to four sessions, to make sure we’re focused on the right issues. Good therapy has a beginning (the assessment and treatment plan), a middle (the therapy itself), and an end (techniques to reinforce your success).
The goal is to give you tools, knowledge, and insight that change your life.

learned to tell the decisions that could wait from the ones that couldn’t. The bad weeks still come, but they no longer wonder whether they made a mistake.

stopped measuring his life against a script he never wrote. He found his True North, and the work and the people in his life finally feel like his own.

sat down with his father and said the things that needed saying. The family business is still complicated. Now there’s a way to talk about it.
